it's an EP

i don't think people get what's customary in an ep. ep's are not full albums, they're kind of like a sampler that often includes a couple of older songs re-done. check out any other ep's on itunes. this is PERFECT for an ep. great job by anna nalick.

Brilliantly Unexpected

Some people are saying that this new Anna Nalick EP is disappointing. I don't see what's so disappointing. I think the extra material is much better than if her record company had simply released "Shine" as a single. We get brand new acoustic versions of "Breathe" and "Wreck" and an amazing cover of "Breaking The Girl." I think Anna's choice to do this song is brilliantly unexpected. She does what every artist should strive to do when choosing a song to cover. Do something interesting and do it in a way that it hasn't already been done. It's perfectly done. I also think that the contrast in style shown on this EP is a great sign of what's to come on the album. "Shine" is an obvious hit. This song is going to be absolutely huge, and I'm sure there will be follow-up singles on the album that are just as "hit-worthy." But I think the choice to cover "Breaking The Girl" in such a beautifully stripped down manner is showing us that the album will also have this kind of depth. I think Anna Nalick is a brilliant artist and although this EP doesn't have a lot of new material, it further proves that this girl is a true artist and someone who will be around for a very long time. Lighten up people. Look deeper and appreciate the genius that lies below the surface. Can't wait to hear the album. -Brad

Refreshing Change And Triumphant Return!

It's SO nice to hear someone with the vocal and lyrical talent of Anna Nalick strip away all the studio production and just sing VERY good songs with accoustic accompaniement! Some have said they are disappointed but I say this disc is everything that makes Anna special - GREAT lyrics, vocals and arrangements! Welcome back Anna! It's nice to hear that GORGEOUS voice again!

Genre: Pop

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Her love of the Cranberries, John Mayer, and Fiona Apple is easy to hear when one listens to the poignant music of singer/songwriter Anna Nalick, but it's her beloved Blind Melon that had the most impact on her career. The California native had been recording demos on a cheap cassette recorder when one of her tapes ended up in the hands of former Blind Melon members Christopher Thorn and Brad Smith. The two were now a production team and with Eric Rosse — a producer who had worked with another...
