it does shine

The remixes are made for the clubs and dj's. They're not always supposed to make an original any better, instead it can make them special (re-calling those great extended remixes on vinyl back in the 80's). Anyway, this little ep was specifically made for the club/dj; not for enhancing the original track. I enjoy the thumping sounds of the Illicit remix over the Babylon remix found on the Queer as Folk soundtrack. The Illicit mix does have a "Rapture" by Blondie hook to it, not sure if it was intenational or not. It plays well against a remix of Madonna's "Don't Tell Me" I have - same mix most clubs have in their pretty little hands. The Tracy Young mix gives it a more moody house mix a nice contrast to the Illicit mix. In my opinion it's worth the whole 13 minutes for that mix - it does have repetative choruses, but that's what club mixes do. Higher Plane is a nice little ditty to end the ep. It's not a fantastic track; very different than what she has recorded prior to Shine, but it does have a quirky Cyndi feeling to it; which most fans will appreciate. Enjoy.

Cyndi shines

Listen to it if you're an addict or someday might become one.

I hate remixes.

I really, really, really hate remixes. The original is great! Leave it alone!
