Customer Reviews

Wow. Nobody's reviewed this masterpiece yet?

Simply put, this album is amazing. A huge leap forward from Love Your Abuser, Shutter Release is, in my opinion, one of the best albums I own. It is a masterpiece.
The album begins on such a strange note with the boisterous drums of "Trichromatic", but it quickly shifts into gear and grabs your attention with the introduction of muted trumpets in that very track, and it only gets better from there. The album blends electronic sounds with traditional instrumentation remarkably well, as do all of Lymbyc Systym's releases, and it has an incredibly dynamic, layered sound that cannot be easily described as anything besides simply stunning. From the calmness of "Interiors", "Late Night Classic", and "Kubrick" to the buildup towards dramatic moments in "Bedroom Anthem" and "Teddy", to the excellent and complex energy of "Contemporary Art" and "T-Ball", every single track of this album is lovingly crafted, creative work of art.
The album is simply a masterpiece of sound, and though I doubt many will love it to the extent I do, I honestly doubt any fan of aesthetically pleasing, instrumental music should be disappointed with Shutter Release.
