Fantastic African Music!

As a fan of world beat and Afro-pop for a few decades now, this recording is a real standout and a great primer for Nigerian-style ensemble funk. Antibalas did the music for the Fela Kuti show on Broadway and this stuff is infectious, multi-layered, polyrythmic and full of Life and Spirit. You can almost feel and visualize the heat and bustle of a Large African City when it bubbles to the top of your Shuffle, and if I were a dance troupe member, this stuff would spur me into a Dionysian Frenzy! Terrific, I'm buying another Antibalas title!

Absolute mind-blowing!!

Antibalas has such a fierce attitude towards sound, words and politics; that every song is a sonic bullet that hits you first in your hips and then in your brain.
