Its about time

I've waited so long for this to come onto itunes... to set sage loose on the rest of the world who don't know him yet. all you have to do is listen to Makeshift Patriot once to see this guy is a god. mix insane beats, deep metaphores, and one smart guy and you get nothing short of amazing.

rap is not just about dancing

This is my favorite Sage album as a whole (though I love it all), and Makeshift Patriot is especially awesome. Everyone needs to give it a chance and realize that a lot of hip hop/rap has really deep-rooted political and social lyrics. It's not just about laying down a beat and creating a dance-able rhythym. If you only listen to rap at clubs and don't care for lyrics, Sage is not your man. But if you're a fan of angry, clever social criticism, then get everything Sage Francis ever wrote, no kidding-you'll love it!

Undiscovered Genius

Unlike the Eminem's or the 50 Cents of the world, Sage Francis is a hip hop poet that ACTUALLY has something to say. His lyrics are genius and his purpose is noble. I'm questioning whether it is a good thing this album is available on iTunes. I think he should stay underground so his creativity can flourish and the truth in his music will remain untainted. OTher albums he's made that were genius: The Non-Prophets, A.O.I.
