Customer Reviews

Where's this guy been.

Just a great album. The vocals are on the same level as a teddy thompson or jeff buckley. Kinda makes you wonder what the Yorke brothers could cook up together.

A great album on its own merits

Yes this is Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke's brother. When I first heard about this album I was bracing for it to either be a Radiohead rip off or just not very good. Fortunately neither of those turned out to be the case. The songs are acoustic guitar and piano driven. The songwriting is excellent and Andy Yorke's vocals fit in perfectly with the way the songs are written. The vocals are soft and beautiful, but in a completely different way from Thom's. My favorite on the album is Mathilda. Overall I'm incredibly impressed and hope he decides to continue his music career.

And yes, this is just a hands-down good album. I happened upon Andy in a chance article online and was intrigued. Don't expect Thom, but expect beautifully crafted, truly heartfelt acoustic music. Props to Andy Yorke, coming from an almost Hollywood-esque underdog stance: I'd see the movie and (happily) just bought the album. I'm glad Mama Yorke didn't use a Brita, because it truly-- is in the water.

The group issued its final album in 2000, after which point...
