Customer Reviews

I think through years, the tejano genre has faded a little. Artists come and go. But Stefani is different, she has been making hits after hits since 1994!! She is one of the top dominating artists because she brings and mixes different sounds to give a truly unique sound of tejano that makes it tejano. She just seems to get better and better and for that, I respect and love this cd.

Best Tejano Album of 2009

I don't know what the last reviewer was thinking, but obviously they haven't heard this incredible album. It was being called the best Tejano album since Selena's "Amor Prohibido" on many tejano websites. This lady has proved herself time after time busting out quality albums with this being the icing on the cake. Any REAL tejano fan would love this album and congrats Stefani on being nominated for a Grammy for this one! Haven't heard of any other tejanas being nominated!

More than Tejano...

Kudos on a remarkable album! It's more than Tejano and displays the versatility of our artist and their capability to go beyond the status quo. I've been a Tejano enthusiast for years, with an exclusive 400+ CD Tejano collection, and will have to say it's been a while since I've purchased a CD and didn't press "next" or skipped right through to the following song. Is this album different, yes. Is it 100% Tejano, no. However, why would such a talented artist place such a boundary on herself time and time again? We've seen it happen throughout the years with other famous artist, criticism and negativity on leaving our Tejano roots for a more mainstream sound/genre. As fans, why do we feel compelled to place "chains" on our gente/artist and expect mediocrity time and time again if a production is not 100% Tejano or make personal attacks about their efforts/commitment w/their livelihood.

The last word on's one of the best albums I've purchased in years, and proud to say all I've done is press play from start to finish and no skipping! Furthermore, here's a challenge...take a mainstream latina such as Thalia and compare her Lunada CD to this one and I guarantee Stefani will be the winner from a critics stand point. Once again, really enjoy the diversity and taking your talent to the next level. Can't please everyone!
