iTunes Review

It's easy to understand why deadmau5 signed Canada's Attlas to his mau5trap label; the Sin EP is steeped in the spine-tingling sound design that is his stock in trade. Driven by a rippling synthesizer lead, "Burned" is a dramatic fusion of progressive house and IDM, while "Tiff's Theme" and "Red" flesh out throbbing tech house with vivid percussive touches. But it's "Parallel Lines" and "Jagged" where Attlas' emotional depths are revealed: Over bittersweet piano melodies and intricately programmed drums, hushed vocals keep heartbreak at bay, sounding both melancholy and hopeful.

A Journey

Attlas is great at taking you through a range of different emotional states. Melodic, heartfelt vocals carry along before dropping away to gritty, underground soundscapes that pulse with calculated, driving percussion before coming up for air again.

The best kind of ups and downs, where it all works together to form a supremely cohesive package.

ATTLAS has put out 3 EP’s in 8 months. The guy is a machine. Personal, beautiful, landscapes of electronic music. This is how it should be done. Each EP is a story and I’ve fell in love with it’s characters. Thank you Jeff Hartford.
