Glam Rock Revival

Finally seeing the light of day after being shelved for years by record company hacks, "#3" does not sound at all dated, despite being intended for release in the mid-1990's. After ditching bandmember Marcella Detroit and the R&B leanings she brought with her, Siobhan Fahey fully indulged her love for glam rock with this album. Her songs carry the best qualities of glam rock; they are clever, cathartic and empowering. In general, they speak to all underdogs in a live-fast-die-young-crotch-grabbing-middle-finger-in-the-air way (as opposed to a whiny, self-pitying, Ashlee Simpson sort of way). You will love this album if you enjoy any of the following: T. Rex (and glam rock in general); the Iggy Pop song "Lust For Life"; The Killers album "Hot Fuss" (and specifically the song "All These Things That I've Done"); the Garbage albums "Garbage" and "Version 2.0"; the Marilyn Manson album "Mechanical Animals"; or the Tori Amos albums "Boys For Pele" and "From The Choirgirl Hotel." My favorites from this album: "Can U Wait That Long," "Excuse Me John," "Do I Scare You?", "I Can Drive," and "Go."

After their first single flopped, Shakespear's Sister's second single, "You're History," made it into the U.K. Top Ten. Sacred Heart, their 1989 debut, also made it into the Top Ten. Most of the material on Sacred Heart and the 1991 follow-up Hormonally Yours was written with...
