Album Review

Best of Sawyer Brown collects ten tracks recorded during the band's tenure with Capitol in the late '80s and into the '90s. Included are the original versions of "Step That Step," "The Dirt Road," "Some Girls Do," and "The Walk." This collection is a good bargain for the budget-conscious.

Don't waste your money

If this were a "Greatest Hits 3" I could possibly understand the scant track listing. But this is the band's 25th Anniversary - what the hell Curb records!?!? You could have really done something special for the fans and sold a couple thousand units instead of throwing this to the wind. Where's the track listing spanning the entire career? Where's a full color booklet with photos from over the years? Alternate shots from older photo shoots that Curb certainly has in their archive? A companion DVD of all their music videos? This just goes to show Curb has NO care whatsoever for this band any longer, nor any creativity in the music business. Why did Sawyer Brown go BACK after leaving Lyric Street? For this!?

Great Collection... One Complaint

Should have Mission Temple Fireworks Stand, but this sums up their career nicely.

Perfect compilation!

So fun to hear the songs from old and newer. I used to have all these on cassette tapes, then CDs, and now I bought this one here so I can keep it forever on my computer. They Don't Understand is such a REAL and TRUE song. Makes you more sensitive to those around you. Love it!

One of those rare acts who actually became stars directly from winning Star Search, country-rockers Sawyer Brown wound up enjoying a long, hit-filled career and remained commercially viable into the new millennium. The group originally grew out of country-pop singer Don King's touring band, with guitarist Bobby Randall and drummer Joe Smyth signing on in 1979, and bassist Jim Scholten, keyboardist Gregg "Hobie" Hubbard, and guitarist/future lead singer Mark Miller all arriving in 1980. King stopped...
