EDITORS’ NOTES

While A Passion Play was Jethro Tull’s second album-length concept piece, following the single-track Thick as a Brick album, it was critically thrashed at the time of release. That's unfortunate, since many pieces of the album come together quite well, with only the spoken-word pieces coming off as overwrought. This 2014 release features the original album and the sessions at the French recording studio called the Chateau D’Herouville, where the band worked on the original concept for the album until homesickness set in. The excellent “Audition,” “Skating Away on the Thin Ice of the New Day” (which found release on the next album, War Child), and “Sailor/No Rehearsal” prove the group were onto something in the original sessions, despite legend referring to the sessions as “Chateau D’Isaster.” Having Porcupine Tree’s Steven Wilson remixing the tracks ensures that a dedicated fan who understands the group’s nuances is bringing out their best.

Missing music

Very glad to have this new release of one of my favorite albums. However, the section "Re-Assuring Tune" from A Passion Play has been left out, despite what the titles say. I've asked around and heard that it is on the CD so it seems that someone made a mistake preparing these files. I'm hoping this is corrected soon.

Nevertheless...

...Even after reading the previous reviews, I had to have this version of A Passion Play. And yes, even after 2 years, there is still no addition of Re-assuring Tune into the set. So, what I did was spend another $1.29 on the other APP remaster by Steven Wilson to acquire it. Shoddy work there, Apple.

missing piece of music

Please add "Re-Assuring Tune" back to this MP3 version of the album. It is missing even though it is listed in the track listing.
