Customer Reviews

She has made me a fan

The previous customer review saying that "it lacks instrumentally" is a bit misleading. This sounds like a negative statement when I think Angie was especially careful where and how to add beats and rhythms and where to keep it very minimal and use her voice as an instrument instead. There is a great example of this all throughout the song called “Mississippi” This shows control and real musical ability.

She could have easily overridden these tracks with instruments and turned it into some horrible mainstream disaster but she didn’t. She is on the very edge of creating something truly timeless that will never sound old with each repeated listen. I like the direction she is taking and hope she continues down this path.

Skeleton Arms is dark, yet sultry and gives way to Angie's metrical talent. It lacks instrumentally, however, this emphasizes how well she really sings. I only wish there were more songs on the album. Bravo!

Angie has an amazingly dusky voice that can transport you (the listener) to another realm. This album may be shorter than some people want it to be (in fact I think Angie calls it an EP on her website), but it packs a hearty dose of depth and meaning in there. The music is gritty and yet sublime, graceful but not forced or too polished. This isn't your average female singer-songwriter blaring out mediocre pop material, this is art, and yet it doesn't stray into the avant-garde or unlistenable realm that many people associate with artful music. I love it!
