Customer Reviews

Many pleasant surprises on this recording.

Been enjoying Billy Crain's lead guitar playing since the Henry Paul Band days. This recording reveals many surprises. In addition to the (expected) excellent songwriting the vocals, vocal arrangements/harmonies and ever changing sonic textures keeps the whole set fresh, interesting and exciting. The hot guitar breaks are scattered throughout but the overall musicianship (BC plays and sings everything) reveal new vistas with repeated plays. While many of us crave his guitar facility with the Outlaws this outing is rewarding and hints of more surprises ahead.

A pretty good first album.

Billy's first cd is pretty good overall. His guitar playing in the songs sound really good and has great rhythm. I expected it to sound somewhat like the Demos cd The Outlaws released not that long ago. I don't think it does but that doesn't make it a bad cd at all. Though the first few lyrics in the first song "Rise Up" sound very similar to lyrics in the song "Flame" on The Outlaws Demos cd. Which just makes me like it even more. It's worth getting for sure, you won't be disappointed.
