Album Review

L.A. Guns' most consistent and effective album, Cocked & Loaded manages to balance the underlying darkness of Guns N' Roses' urban outlook with Mötley Crüe's party-anthem glam metal. The songwriting is among their best; "Never Enough" was successful on MTV, and "The Ballad of Jayne," a tribute to actress Jayne Mansfield, was a Top 40 hit.

Great Album

Great album from the era and well worth revisiting! Check out Wheels of Fire (one of my favorite songs of all time), Sleazy Come Easy Go, Malaria, Magdalaine, and I Wanna Be Your Man. The Ballad of Jayne and Never Enough you may remember from MTV of old..

I believe i read that a certain "Vanhalenizer" said that this album is good, which i can not argue with. But they continued to say that it was better than GNR's appetite for destruction. This album may be good but it isn't even on the same level as Appetite. This band was on the rise but since the absence of a certain Saul Hudson (a.k.a. Slash), Steven Adler, and Duff McKagan this band is a mere shadow of its former self. To wrap this up Appetite had over 28 million copys sold worldwide and three top ten singles in Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, and Sweet Child O' Mine (which went #1 on the charts). This album; although it is a decent to good album, is no where near that.

Formed in 1983, the group's first lineup included Tracii Guns and vocalist Axl Rose, the latter of whom eventually left to form his own group with childhood friend Izzy Stradlin. Rose and Guns decided to combine their two bands in 1985, thus creating the earliest incarnation of Guns N' Roses. Tracii Guns handed...
