This album is not new....

Slice is a great album but it's not new. It came out October 13, 2009. I'm not sure why iTunes is showing it as a new release on June 15, 2010.

Another Slice, Please

Another brilliant album by Five for Fighting, "Slice" delivers the same foundation that fans of the band love with some new twists. The same style of songwriting is present, including some of the same light notes of patriotism and jade that Ondrasik is known for. There are two departures this album takes from most of his work, however, which define this album in the discography. Most notably, the sound is different -- the light piano melodies are now much stronger and have an utterly unique sound -- not bad, just different, and they take a while to get used to. Secondly, Ondrasik generally included some humor in his previous albums ("Angels and Girlfriends" or "Policeman's Xmas Party") which is notably absent from this collection. This is not to say that there's no levity, only that it is much more subtle than before (in particular, some lyrics of "Nowhere Bar" can be quite humorous). The overall balance of the album (that is, up-tempo and ballads, tones of supporting the troops and religion) is very consistant with the group's previous releases.

It's another beautiful album from Five for Fighting.

Excellent

Like all his other albums, excellent. Nuf said.

Although originally released in 2000, the single became popular after the events of September 11, 2001, which shone new light on Five for Fighting's tale of flight, insecurity, and heroics. Another Top 40 hit, "100...
