a perverse joke

Biteycat.com

you're just like me, in love with the original R4 soundtrack & consider it to be quite possibly the best video game OST of all time. this album is not an appropriate substitution, infact it's quite the opposite of what you'd expect. it's a heavily tampered with collection of the songs with low pitch resonating sounds and backing tracks during the most iconic portions of each song, it's so distracting it makes the song impossible to fully enjoy, it would be one thing if it complemented the music and went with the beat, but it's mismatched completely. the DJ who assembled this sloppy amateur compilation was so uninspired it's as if this was an assignment. don't let Namco trick you with the $2 price, it's because they're so sadistic on that level, that they want you to suffer. Seriously Namco just release the R4 OST already, I'll gladly pay full retail for it.

Worth the Price. A fresh take.

While I'm very much in the same boat as Biteycat's review, namely in that I think the R4 is an incredible OST (my personal favorite, and still listen to it today), I disagree on the review score.

This is not the original OST nor does it claim to be. It is done up as a continuous mix, with one song progressing seamlessly to the next.

This offers a subtly fresh take on some classic songs. I would give it five stars if it had more songs featured but due to the shorter list and slightly lower sound quality this sits at 4 stars for me. It's a good buy for the current price.
