Album Review

This is a solid, albeit random assessment of Milsap's first seven years in country music. Mainstream country is featured, with "Pure Love" and "(I'm A) Stand by My Woman Man," but Milsap really shines on the elaborate and challenging arrangements of "(I'd Be) A Legend in My Time," "It Was Almost like a Song," and "Let's Take the Long Way Around the World." One previously unreleased track is here: "Smoky Mountain Rain," a hit single in its own right.
