Simply Incredible . . . These Guys Are Going To Be Huge

This album has just about everything you could want; musical complexity, quality topical lyrics, a rare blend of electronic psychedelia and earthy instrumentals, and, best of all, tasty jams, all while somehow staying very accessible to the casual listener. If you have listened to Papadosio's previous work, you can expect a somewhat similar sound on Observations, but with more variety in the feel from song to song than, say, Magreenery, and overall, their latest work is by far the tightest they have put out to date. There is something extremely special going on here.

Stellar album from a potentially ground-breaking jamtronica band.

Those of you that have listened to magreenery will recognize the flow of the sound on this album, which is quite characteristic of todays best live-performing bands. Papadosio seems to bridge the gap between many great artists. Although they probably are more methodically related to the likes of STS9 & Lotus, you will hear a lot of diversity throughout. The electronica is accompanied by epic face-melting jams reminiscent of Phish, moe., and Umphreys. The DJ and drummer combo very well, a lot of the same tricks used by Pretty lights/STS9 can be heard, as well as their own creativity to create some sick, jumpin' beats. These guys can sing too! The catchy lyrics are dark and angsty yet empowering and meaningful, almost Maynard James Keenan-esque (Tool). There are few, if any, skip-tracks on this album. However, if I had to pick the highlight tracks: The Lack Of Everything, You and Yourself, All I Knew, Smile and Nod, and Night Colors.

If you love improvisation, instrument harmony and tight, gnarly beats, from a truly multi-dimensional band then you will love this album. I can't wait to see them live!

I seem to have lost my face... it melted off halfway thru this album
