Album Review

Few artists of any nation have created such a passionate and human statement on political themes as Waldemar Bastos, while at the same time, expertly explores musical styles from across the African continent, creating a sensual and sensational statement. From the opening track "Sofrimento," a tender lament for Angola, this singer/songwriter casts a spell that lingers long after the last note has faded.

How could you not like this?

This is a classic. One of the best on Luaka Bop. I think it's the best production of all of Bastos's albums. Great quietly intense music. Definitely AfroPop, but with a strong Latin feel. "Sofrimento" is an absolutely incredible song on so many levels. This album will go down as a one of the most brilliant world album of the 90's.

You will like this album, if you think your self, a world music lover.

I could not forget his performance and bought this CD immediately. What a pleasure to remember while listening. . .
