Soak in the Sounds of Great Songwriting

Fantastic album - songs that get better and better with each listen. I've been hooked since seeing them open for The Replacements all those years ago, and so glad that they are still at it.

Withered Posies

My beloved Posies failed me. I saw the warning signs with the good, but uneven 'Available Light'. The next album was a further step in the wrong direction. Now with 'Solid States', they've reached their nadir. Their best work was back in the 90's (and their late 80's debut album). What we get now in 2016 from the Posies is some pretentious 'indie rock' interspersed with some left-wing claptrap (their idea of pandering to the eggheads at Pitchfork). R.I.P.

Big Step Back

Yes, I'm stuck on earlier days of The Posies and enjoy some of their newer music, but there is no resemblance of 90's Posies identity here at all. This album is too eclectic and the past few albums seem to be trying to hard to be different, which could be turning off some fans.

The Posies were centered around the partnership of guitarists/vocalists/songwriters Jonathan Auer and Ken Stringfellow, who began recording songs together in Auer's Bellingham, Washington...
