Album Review

A triumphant solo debut, Somebody features a backing band made up of members of Silly Wizard, Capercaillie, and The Boys of the Lough. Dover treats traditional Scottish, Irish and American material along with medieval and contemporary songs. It's one of the most impressive albums of this sort to come from America.

Customer Reviews

superb

If you are not familiar with Connie Dover, and you are interested in authentic Celtic and American and world folk music, not the New Age versions done by Celtic Women, then listen. Her pronounciations, her inflections, her quality of voice and tone are superb. I highly recommend all of her albums

amazing as always

She has an unrivaled voice that not even the best Celtic Woman could match. This, as well as all her albums, are well worth buying. Her voice is so good that even the songs I don't really care for, I can't help but listen to anyways.

Stunning

Connie Dover is an authentic Celtic/Folk artist, not like the Yanniwannabe-New-Age-One-Note-Wonders know as the Celtic Women. Her voice is unique, fresh and alluring. If you want correct pronounciation and inflection, if you want precise phrasing and unmatched musicality, buy this and all of her albums. I just wish there were more.
