My favorite album of all time!

I've been a fan of The Paper Chase for since their first album, and this is by far their best yet! The songs are more accessible, more poppy than anything The Paper Chase has done, but they still hold on to the beautiful dissonance and darkness that makes them so amazing. I've slowly come to realize that The Paper Chase is my favorite band, and that this album is not only my favorite of theirs, but of all time.

I lack the vocabulary to even begin to describe this...

I will still try. If you are a fan, then you already know what is supposed to go here. You can stop reading now. If you are wondering who can turn the sound of air raid sirens into music? How does the buzzing of a fly go into a song? How can reading song titles aloud in the wrong company of people mark you for a psych evaluation? The pAper chAse, that's how! Heavy is not your thing? Well, that is just fine, the lighter paced stuff is just as dark with a sick sense of humor at times that will make you smile. Check them out if you like... well, if you like the chance to hear stuff you have never heard before.

SO worth it.

The album is like one whole song! I really can't believe how much this one has grown on me. And the symbolism The Paper Chase uses in their lyrics is so fun to try to decipher. Absolutley a buy!

The Ctrl-Alt-Del-U EP on Divot followed in 2001, and the next year the Paper Chase delivered Hide the Kitchen...
