I'm now a cinephile myself

Many have proclaimed the wonderful genre of trip-hop to be dead, but those like Cinephile, Puracane, and 8mm have a few words (and songs) to counter that argument. This is a brilliant and beautiful CD that perfectly describes everything that is right with electronica: blissful beats (Comatose, What Becomes of Us), tripped out existential trance (Somewhere Nowhere, Being Human) and rocking rhythms (Urban Angel). There isn't a song on this sampler that disappoints and the alternation between songs with words and those without give the CD a quality that lends to repetition without exhaustion. Even the self-titled song at the end, while boring if listened to in the car, belies the expressive nature of these musical story-tellers. Do yourself a favor and get this CD and tell everyone you know. Also worth noting: there are two remixes on other albums that are worth the 99 cents; Comatose and What Becomes of Us (easily two of the best songs) are altered subtly, yet artfully, and are worth the time.

Great indeed

Ever since I've heard their hit song "What Becomes Of Us?" on CSI: I've been a huge fan, It's quite disapointing to learn they're not well known either. The sound is very clear, well thought our I might add, and the vocals are outstanding. Somewhere Nowhere and What Becomes Of Us? Are my top favs.

Don't deny yourself this CD.

Cinephile is an amazing duo from Glasgow, Scotland. Kenny Inglis and Susan Wallace make up Cinephile. My husband heard them a few years ago and wanted a CD for his birthday. I had not heard them yet, but ordered 2 CDs. When I got the opportunity to listen to them I was hooked. The next time we bought Cinephile CDs, I got one too.We are really happy that iTunes offers cinephile now. Don't deny yourself this CD. You'll get lost in the music for years to come. wjokos
