iTunes Review

Bentley’s eighth studio album is filled with heartfelt storytelling and wide-screen production. It’s hard not to get swept away with the echoing guitars and deeply human stories of Black—whether we’re lost in the passionate flood of the title track or on the breezy rebound fling of “Somewhere on a Beach.” While the inspired collaborations (with Trombone Shorty, Elle King, or songwriter Maren Morris) speak to his genre-bending appeal, it’s personal, introspective tracks like “Why Do I Feel” and “All the Way to Me” that hit the hardest.

Amazing

I used to listen to Dierks Bentley in college after his self titled album came out. I could play that beginning to end over and over. I loved a lot of the songs on Modern Day Drifter, too. I stopped listening to country music very much after that. I don't love the current "bro country" stuff so I haven't been paying much attention to much country. A friend posted "Different for Girls" on Facebook and I was instantly in love. I figured I should check out more on the album as I loved that song so much. It's SO good. I can't pick a favorite but "I'll Be the Moon," "Black" and "Different for Girls" are some of the best songs I've heard in ages in any song genre. There is so much emotion throughout the album. It's like 2003 in my world with Dierks Bentley on repeat daily. I bought a ticket to a September show which is 120 miles away within a couple hours of hearing "Different for Girls" and I'm going alone so I can have a better seat. Can't wait!

Could be as good As Up On A Ridge...

Wish I could hear more than just these two songs, but so far I'm excited. UP On A Ridge is one of my favorite albums that really stuck with me.

Love me some Dierks

This whole album is great! Great to listen while getting through some SoCal traffic and even better to listen to while on the beach! Thank you Dierks for helping me through the rough times with your great music!

Biography

Born: November 20, 1975 in Phoenix, AZ

Genre: Country

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Growing up in a non-musical family in Phoenix, Arizona, country singer Dierks Bentley got his country music education on his own, listening to records. A love of the music inspired him to move to Nashville at the age of 19, but he quickly grew discouraged by the lack of public and professional interest coming his way. It all changed when he walked into the Station Inn, a bar where the bluegrass faithful hung out. An all-night jam session recharged his batteries and he again started pursuing gigs....
