Amazing album

I am not sure why people are reviewing this album so low, this album is amazing. A very big improvement from previous albums, wretched has gotten much more talented and this album is definitely melodic death metal to think it is anything else is kind of idiotic, get the album for yourself to really see how good it is worth all 5 stars very fast paced and heavy

For the idiot that called this black metal… Obviously you have no knowledge of black metal. This is nowhere close to black metal. Those minor chords you are hearing is a little something called melody my friend! And when you have melody you can have ear pleasing riffs and parts which people enjoy! Yet this album still contains enough dissonance to make it awesome. So whoever disses this album has no knowledge of awesome death metal. Buy this album.

Very Disappointed

After hearing Wretched had a new cd dropping, I was excited. "Beyond the Gate" was a tremendous accomplishment in melodic death metal history. But with "Son of Perdition," this is not the Wretched I have come to know. I wondered at the first listen if this was even the right cd or band. Gone are the melodic, thrashy riffs and are replaced by melancholy black metal chords. I'm not bashing black metal, I'm just not really a fan. Overall, if you are a fan of the first two Wretched albums, you might be highly disappointed with this wreck of an album.

During this time, the band's lineup seemed constantly in a state of flux,...
