Great Experimental B-Movie Glam!

Sure there's plenty of writer/artist rock bands -- everyone from Stephen King to Tim Truman have bands (heck, comic-LETTERER extraordinaire, Todd Klein, has 2 albums!), but only MIKE ALLRED & Company have a vinyl-record sized graphic novel, a music album AND an independent movie that all interconnect! Along with the movie ASTROESQUE (1998) and the RED ROCKET 7 comic book, this album completes the loosely connected narrative of visitors from other planets and rock & roll stars. This album is fun, trashy glam, and indie hard rock. It longs for the days of Ziggy Stardust-era Bowie and Brian Jones-era Stones. My personal favs are Killer Elite and Subtle Song!

Absolutely fantastic

I've had this album since it came out and it's remained a staple of my music library ever since. The music is absolutely fantastic and totalles takes you into a weird, wonderful world. I'm beyond ecstatic that The Gear have a new album coming out soon.

A diamond in the rough

This is an incredibly powerful album full of an interesting mix of various genres. Sometimes powerful, sometimes introspective, but always fasinating through the eyes of a creator who not only knows music, but various other aspects of art. I highly recommend it!
