A modern master.

Lang Lang may interpret things in a manner that isn't always true to the composers, but then what is music but an interpritation of emotion? My piano teacher always told me to play with emotion and make songs your own. You aren't a true pianist if you play like a robot off the sheet music. He has shown great technical skill and skill at expressing emotion. That is just my opinion.

This generations' finest performer

This is another great compilation of classical masterpieces this generations' virtuoso pianist. How Lang Lang performs these works is truely spectacular. There is great precision in dynamic contrast, phrasing, and tone quality. There are no flaws to the composer's intentions for the piece as well. A true gem in any classical lover's mind, this album has stuck with me as one of the most intriguing albums in a very long time.

Brilliant technique but bizarre interpretations

Lang Lang clearly possesses a virtuoso technique. However, his musicianship leaves much to be desired as he either tries to sound profound by playing ridiculously slowly or bangs away at lightspeed. Horowitz, Pletnev, and others offer both original and technically brilliant performances of these pieces.

He entered the Peking Conservatory...
