Exquisite and delicate

Works of exquisite beauty played with delicacy and charm. But be sure to listen on something other than the iPod's stock earphones. They emphasize the tonalities of the piano at the expense of Mutter's fine playing, and make the sonatas sound as if they are for piano, with violin accompaniment.

superb playing

In reference to other reviews I think the mix is fine (as heard on my stereo)- thier use of dynamics is outstanding and transends any mix subjectivity. Bottom line is this is high caliber music, with Mutter perhaps at the peak of her powers and Orkis is great also.

Blah

These two hit all the notes nicely, but I have a real problem with the sound on this recording. The reverb is excessive and makes the piano sound muddy and muffled. The violin part just doesn't stand out in front enough and much of her performance seems hidden by the soupy piano tones. I've listened to this on several different sets and it all comes out about the same. Listening to this in the car was just unbearable.
