Naya's got a great voice, but this song is not good and in no way shows her true talent.
serves its purpose
Naya stated she wanted a fun first single and was aiming for a 90s r&b-pop sound with a hip hop influence. that's exactly what she's provided here. it sounds great in the car and is extemely catchy. Big Sean does some of his best work rhythmically. No, she doesn't really provide stellar vocals, but that's not the type of song this is; it's more like something you would have heard TLC do in 1993. Hopefully, that nostalgia would be eough to make you take a listen and just enjoy it for what it is until the next single. For everybody else... you ever gotten into a new relationship and the exes are have an attitude with you, are spreading rumors, or otherwise being difficult? well, this is basically the responses you would give in a song lol.
There's not a note in this song that displays her true vocal talent. You can hardly even call this singing. It's more like promoting her boyfriend with rhythm.
