Customer Reviews

Her singing is feminine and subtle. The nuances of what is beautiful come to her easily. So many singers seem intent on overpowering a piece, but Mz. Bartoli has amazing control and understands the importance of making the song beautiful, not just showing off her voice. I am new to Opera, this is my first purchase and I am very pleased.

For me, Cecilia is the voice of a generation, the mezzo-soprano of the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries. As she has matured, her selection of works has as well, often revealing musical gems that I'd never head of, all delivered in her rich, voluptuous and beautiful voice. This collectiono is a beautiful mix of some of the most recognizable arias ever set to music, including her stunning rendition of Casta Diva, as well as some lesser known but gorgeous works, such as the lovely Handel pieces. A stunning addition to one of the most interesting, thought-proking and simply beautiful repretoires of our time.

Cecilia's Sospiri

Cecilia Bartoli is one of the best mezzo-sopranos of our time. I have almost every CD of hers and this new Sospiri just takes it over the top. If you want to her a wonderful performance and feel like you're actually in the recital hall listening to her this is it!! I recommend everyone to go out and buy this album. I haven't had the album over 5 hours and listened to the whole thing twice already!!
