iTunes Review

Sam & Dave started recording in the early '60s, making obscure singles with labels like Roulette and Marlin before signing with Atlantic and working exclusively with the team at Memphis upstart Stax Records. There, with help from songwriters Isaac Hayes and David Porter—plus the extraordinary house bands Booker T & The M.G.s and The Mar-Kays—the duo became chart-topping megastars, releasing a string of gigantic singles that would become timeless classics.
