A wonderful postmodern update on what is Funk!

Modernized On The Corner

This is a great find: a very funky, layered, and at times moody album reminiscent of Miles Davis's On The Corner. Not over-the-top brilliant (that's why I only gave it 4 stars), but well worth the price. There are elements of African High-Life sound in addition to everything else wonderful about it.
