Awesome Rock Throwback

Being a huge Blakes fan, I ended-up ordering the physical CD before it got on iTunes, and I'm not disappointed with The Blakes latest effort, and in fact I'm in love with it. Many reviews have likened their sound to classics like The Rolling Stones and The Shins, and this album more then the last shows the depth of this influence. Cannot wait to see them live next month!

another great set of tunes!

Get this and the previous album, and you will have a large set of great sing-along rock songs with great melodies. The guitar riffs and pounding drums/bass show signs of classic rock bands of the 60's, and each song sounds different. Move To The City, Charmed, Dog of Sin, Basket, So Easy, Wolf In Sheep's Clothes ... these are great tracks! The Blakes rule!

Still got it

Earlier this year I was introduced to the Blakes and that first full length CD were incredible. I think I have upward of 40 listens on it. So when Souvenir was released I picked it up and at first I am not so enthused about it as I was. However I am finding myself captured by songs like Move to the City, Tommy and Ramshackle Hearse. I still haven't listened to the album enough to really notice much else. I still hear that energy that had me infatuated with the first album.

Point and case, this is a good album. I enjoy it. I really do and if you loved the first album this is a mandatory buy. Don't think twice about it.

The power trio took root in 2001, when the Maine-born Keim siblings (who had been busking across the country since the late '90s, working odd jobs and writing music) met Husak at a Seattle coffeehouse. The Keims were impressed with Husak's percussion, likening its energy to that of the Who's Keith Moon, and the three relocated to...
