liked it from beginning to end on first listen - new fan

I'm new to Joe Pug, but I'm definitely a fan. I don't want to do Joe injustice by trying to describe his music too much, but I'd tell someone he is a singer/songwriter, a lyricist with a unique voice and a guitar. His voice draws you to the lyrics and the lyrics are such that I find myself listening to songs closely to absorb them. I rarely like a new album, let alone from a new artist, from beginning to end on the first spin, but that's the case with Messenger. I look forward to listening to this album for a while and will look to see Joe live when he comes to Texas.

Better than Bob!

There, I said it. Joe Pug gets a lot of comparisons to Bob Dylan for his sound and songwriting. But can that be anything but the highest compliment? When you listen to Bury Me Far, you'll think you're hearing the best anti-war song since Dylan. This album is incredible and deserves all the acclaim it will certainly get. In fact five stars isn't enough--here's a couple more **!

Joe Pug... the real thing

This is a great album by a hardworking young folksinger. After two EPs and a year and half of waiting, it's great to have this out! Love it. And see the guy live... it's a real treat.

Pug formed his first band on a dare from his sixth-grade science teacher, who didn't believe Pug and his friends would be able to pull something together in time to appear at a school dance. The boys were able to deliver a presentable version of a tune from the first Foo Fighters...
