Customer Reviews

Essential for fans, good place to start for newcomers

Drowning Dreams, the Shroud's earliest material (that I know of), is more raw that their later releases, yet has apparent traces of what their later material evolves into. The Shroud is my favorite band in the many faceted "goth" genre. If you like Switchblade Symphony, Collide, Hungry Lucy or Rhea's Obsession, definitely give the Shroud a listen. Hauntingly smooth vocals with dark and drifting chords are their specialties. Even though the Shroud has gotten stronger with subsequent albums, Drowning Dreams is a strong start. For me, the only weak tracks are Spectre and Lover's Bones. These are still good, but more raw than the rest. Ophelia, When Flowers Fall and Turn Away are my favorites. For fans, it's a must buy. Less that $7, too. Thank you iTunes. For those who enjoy music for a dark, moonlit night, start here to get under the spell of the Shroud.

Good goth ep

Although the singer is off sometimes, its a good album. Great music, great atmosphere. Listening to this album makes me want to sit in a candlelight room and read poetry. Cant beat it.
