this album is absolutly fantastic. great keyboard followed up with some great drums... must buy for any jazz rock fan

Good jazz instrumental music

This band can play! Two pianists and a drummer is a perfect formula for great music. The drumming really stands out and the two piasinsts complement each other very well.

Challenging yet Inviting

I find most music of this type to be too unconstructed and self-consciously sophisticated. In previewing this album, I feel excited at listening to it multiple times to fully take it in, yet invited to do so. Very pleased to have purchased "An Anxious Object" and look forward to relaxing into it.

The jazz-influenced Tokyo post-rock trio Mouse on the Keys was one of a number of challenging Japanese bands that came to prominence in the latter half of the first decade of the twenty-first century, bands that would probably never even have been signed in the West, far less marketed as pop music. Cerebral, literate and influenced as much by philosophy and art as by music, their astounding, technically complex, yet emotionally affecting work showed just what could be done with only two keyboards...
