iTunes Review

The San Francisco Bay Area’s Blame Sally is an all-female quartet who believe in the group dynamic. Each member gets a chance at front-person status and no one hogs the spotlight. Formed in 2000, the band has grown up using a grassroots approach. At a time when so many older (in music years) musicians decide it’s too late to go for the brass ring, Blame Sally see it as living by example. This is a highly skilled roots-rock band that dabbles in folk and R&B. “Living Without You” is the easily accessible rocker. “Wide Open Spaces” is a hard funk with guest Julie Wolf on the Hammond B-3 and singer Renee Harcourt adding the gas. “Take Me There” is the tender ballad from pianist Monica Pasqual. “Big Big Bed” with Jeri Jones on resophonic and electric slide guitar and drummer Pam Delgado on vocals twists up a modern blues that remains two steps away. “Back In the Saddle” trembles with traces of hard rock.

Best Blame Sally album yet!

The Sallies cover so much ground on this record - from folk ballads to pop rockers to Latin hip-shakers to piano-driven soul-searchers. And every single one showcases the breadth and depth of the band's supreme musicality. It picks up where "Severland" and "Night of 1000 Stars" left off, while still exploring new and ambitious ground. In my book - its the best Blame Sally album yet!

Great new album

Love Love Love this album! The best Blame Sally album to date! Bird in Hand and Pajaros Sin Alas are my favorite songs on the album. Blame Sally is one of the best American, folk, rock, pop bands out there!

I can't stop playing this CD the songs stay with me always. I wake up humming and sing them. What I find to be super awesome is how nice each and every one of them was after a show I saw. They are in love with what they do and it shows. The base player said hi to me, he has a smile I'll never forget. I hope they release more soon. How come they aren't on the radio. My CD has groves in it. There's not a song I skip over. I think every one could be top played.

Featuring four of San Francisco’s most celebrated female songwriters, Blame Sally were born from a series of informal jam sessions in 2000. Pam Delgado, Renee Harcourt, Jeri Jones, and Monica Pasqual -- all active solo artists in the Bay area -- began meeting up several times a week to share dinner and trade songs, slowly carving out a collaborative sound rooted in folk, Americana, and country. Before long, the self-described “living room band” had developed a healthy local following, prompting the...
