iTunes Review

Six years since her last English-language studio album, 2006's Loose, Nelly Furtado continues to seek inspiration from the club beats and techno-influenced productions that brought her to national attention, but with additional approaches that smooth out her sound. "High Life," which features a perfectly set rap from Ace Primo, best illustrates how Furtado and producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jenkins work a variety of guests and styles into a mainstream sound. Nas joins in for "Something," produced by Salaam Remi, who also handled the board duties for a duet with Sara Tavares on the glorious, dreampoppy "The Most Beautiful Thing." While these special guests add an extra boost, Furtado does just fine on her own. "Bucket List" has a melody that's simply gorgeous. The official album's closing track, "Believers (Arab Spring)," is a dramatic anthem that rocks, bounces, and expresses the triumph of the human spirit. The U.S. deluxe version betters the original album with several notable bonuses, including the punchy "Hold Up" and her collaboration with the Kenyan Boys Choir on "Thoughts," also presented in a remix version by Tiesto.

LOVEEEE THIS ALBUM, she might´ve picked the first 2 wrong songs as singles but this album has so much else to offer the rest of the album is a masterpiece !

Great job, Nelly!

It's so sad to see such an amazing album doind so bad in the charts in USA. This album is so positive, full of life, great songs, great lyrics.

Best pop album of the year!!

This album is so eclectic and unique. It's like nothing else that has been released this year! Every song stands out and appeals to different moods and emotions. If you listen to the entire album from beginning to end it's like taking a journey and celebrating the wonder and beauty of youth, hope, freedom, love and life. The songs are fun and meaningful, with great production. What more could you ask for in a pop album? Nelly Furtado has clearly outdone herself with what I truly believe is her best album to date. Purchase your copy and go sit down with your headphones, or by your sound system. I assure you, you will NOT regret it!

When Nelly Furtado appeared with her neo-hippie, multiculti debut Whoa, Nelly! in 2001, a dance-diva makeover seemed like an impossibility, but the singer/songwriter revived and sustained her career with the sexually charged Loose in 2006, in the process consolidating her position as one of the most unpredictable artists of her decade. Furtado always proudly displayed her Portuguese heritage, a distinction that separated her from legions of emerging female singer/songwriters in the early days of...
