Limited selection

Good starter album, but wow, what a limited collection. They should have included a song from every Miyazaki/Hisaishi collaboration, or at least as many as they could fit. Where's Totoro? Where's Laputa? Where's Kiki? An album like this should serve as an introduction to Hisaishi's amazing scores so that listeners will seek out the full scores. Instead it gives a large section of the soundtrack from a small number of films. Still, it's one of the few Hisaishi CDs readily available in the U.S. — if you aren't able to import the full soundtracks or even know what you are looking for, this is a good album to start with.

It is wicked!

Hey itunes! why not put all of The miyazaki films on? That would be so cool!

The best soundtrack compilation I've ever heard.

For those of you who don't know, Joe Hisaishi is the composer of all of Miyazaki's excellent films from Princess Mononoke, to Spirited Away, and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds. He is an excellent composer that ranks up there with John Williams, Hanz Zimmer, and Martin O'Donnel. I highly recommend this album if you even slightly like soundtrack. Of all the songs on here, I would definately recommend the First Movement of Nausicaa, One Summer's Day, The Legend of Ashitaka, and Princess Mononoke Theme Song. But really, just do yourself a favor and by the entire album as they are all excellent pieces.
