iTunes Review

Coping with big success is a challenge for bands of any genre. For MercyMe, the task was to prove that their debut Christian radio hit “I Can Only Imagine” was more than an inspirational fluke, andSpoken For gave ample evidence of the group’s rock-solid commitment to its mission and its music. Bart Millard shows considerable versatility as a vocalist, conveying child-like humility on the title track, lighthearted joy on “All of the Above” and preacher-like authority on “Go.” MercyMe’s sonic identity is somewhat blurred on this album — one minute, they sound like a genial country-pop group (“The Change Inside of Me”), the next a moody British rock combo (“Come One, Come All,”) or an old-fashioned gospel outfit (“The Love of God”). But no matter. Lyrically-outstanding tracks like as “There’s a Reason” (a stirring reaffirmation of faith in a post-9/11 world) and “Crazy” (a defiant, poetic statement of spiritual resistance) make it clear MercyMe intends to be a force within Christian music for years to come.

Good Christian Cd

"Crazy" is one of my favorite mercyme songs if you dont get the cd at least get it.

Mercy, Me!

I love all of MercyMe's songs. They're such a great Christian group!

Good CD

MercyMe did a great job with their second CD release. The songs flow just as well as they did on the first album. My favorite songs on here are Spoken For and Word of God Speak. This is a good CD to share with someone who might be new to the faith and is looking for some kind of answer.

Although praise & worship band MercyMe was founded in 1994, vocalist Bart Millard says that the group's birth was a process God began in him during high school. Millard recalls, "My dad and my older brother were both football players. So naturally, that's what I wanted to do as well. But I broke both my ankles in a high school football game and that ended my career." Due to the injury, Millard was left with an elective class to fill and reluctantly joined the only available option: choir. With the...
