Lyrics, vocals, guitar: the gang's all here.

I can't express how inspring this C.D. is. As a writer, with no musical talent, I have little experience in the music business. But I know what I like, even love, and this C.D. makes the top of my list. Carlson is an amazing writer and artist, his talent, evident in his other projects, absolutely shines here. I recommend Carlson, and this C.D., to anyone interested in good vocals, amazing lyrics. Fans of country, R&B and acoustic music will love this album.

I'm ashamed to say I got into him because of Jensen Ackles

Yep, I'll admit it--I was a huge fan of Christian Kane when he was on Angel, and have always been a fan of Ackles', but when I heard he did backing vocals on this CD, I bought it--partially for Steve, partially for Jensen, but now I'm staying for Steve. His sound differs slightly from that of Kane, but it suits him well--the slightly rought-and-tumble edge to his voice makes the songs just resonate in your ears long after you've stopped listening. Steve is really quite an incredible solo artist.

So soulful and sexy!!

What a great CD!!! I know it's really not his first CD (i.e. Kane) but his first solo effort is such a departure from the "country" sound I'm used to (and loved). His voice is deep and raspy - and very sexy! Though I loved "Kane" I am so glad Steve is solo now. His music and lyrics are bluesy and intelligent. Cheers!
