Album Review

Armed with just his acoustic guitar, a suitably Dave Matthews-like husky voice, and a razor-sharp wit, singer/songwriter Matt Nathanson documented three sold-out solo shows at the Philadelphia venue The Point. Nathanson shares an easy rapport with his audience, while songs like "Lost Myself in Search of You" and "Romeo and Juliet" serve only to enhance this collection's intimate atmosphere., Rovi

The Sexual Tyrannasaur Rules Once Again!

This guy has led me to see more tail then a Victoria's Secret dressing room. Between his live shows that I have on Shn files, to his studio recorded songs, it has led to a life of great times and even better music. His concert experiences are amazing and At the Point delivers the best representation of being at a concert as any good live album should. At the Point delivers the experience of seeing him live. From strong ballads like "I Saw", witty banter like "A Line from Lie", classic covers "Romeo and Juliet" (Dire Straits), and Hard rocking 12-string sexual goodness of "Answering Machine" this album has everything but a free salad shooter! Make sure you check him out, I am sure you won't be disappointed!

Simply Matt-tastic!

Trust me, you will LOVE this cd. It's pure Matt...musical genious, hilarious improv, silly banter and all. Four shows in three nights with friends and fans that travelled from every corner of the United States, literally THOUSANDS of miles, to enjoy the amazing experience that took place at The was bound to be a hit!

I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats!

His songs are emotionally charged and he plays the acoustic guitar like he's trying to beat the truth out of it. The songs are wonderful little gems that really sparkle their best when they are performed live and solo. Saw him perform before a Tori Amos show in Detroit about a year ago and was blown away by the lyrics and music. BUY THIS NOW - you'll like it better than ice cream.

Genre: Rock

San Francisco-based singer/songwriter Matt Nathanson has built up a loyal fan base through extensive touring. His live shows are stripped-down affairs: half music, half standup comedy, with the humor balancing out the frequently introspective songs. Nathanson has released several independent albums, including Please (1993), Ernst (1997), Not Colored Too Perfect (1998), and Still Waiting for Spring (1999), as well as an EP, When Everything Meant Everything (2002). His major-label debut, Beneath These...
