Fresh, Innovative, and Incredible!

If this album doesn't put them on the map as one of the forefront top musicians, I don't know what will and have lost faith in music. This CD is such an icredible leap from their first album, while still retaining all the qualities that make them who they are and what made their first debut album, Lafacadio, an amazing sonic ride. This album is filled with lush sound landscapes, catchy and wonderfully done harmonies, and is just an overall rhythmic trip. The drums and bass have been brought out more and it makes a world of a difference and really shows what Cliff and Julio can bring to the table. Cliff hold's it down on percussion and keeps an originality all his own; while Julio's basslines compliment everything around him so well. Dan's vocals and lyrics have grown. He's not afraid to use the entire range of his voice and has wonderful control and balance. Saen's guitar work brings an ambience to the album one can't put down in words. If you liked Lafcadio, pick this album up right now. If you just want to hear great, original music then do the same. Genre labels do not do this band justice. Massapequa, New York represent!!!!!

Most Amazing Album Ever.

Okay, okay, you may think I am over exaggerating when I say it’s the most amazing piece of work done but I’m not. This band is known for their vibrant live performances. I saw them unintentionally at another band’s concert that they were opening up for. I had looked up some of their music (via myspace) to get a taste of what I was going to hear before the concert and I fell in love. This album is, without a question, in my top 5 greatest and believe me, I’ve listened to a lot of music to find myself. As Tall As Lion’s self-titled album is a ten, I listen to it almost anywhere I go and with everything I do. I have this album blasting in my ear buds while I’m cleaning, studying, or just on the train ride to school. You almost get hypnotized by their amazing use of instruments along with the extremely talented voice of the lead singer, Dan Nigro. The first track is ‘Stab City,’ which is my favorite. This song gets me lost in a mix of the guitar, drums, singing, and oddly enough, a trumpet solo mid-way through the song, that is one of the most beautiful sounds my ears have ever heard. ‘Stab City’ then flows right into ‘A Song For Luna/Summer,’ along with the other songs off this cd, you just close your eyes and the music takes you to another level. A level that no other band has ever done for me. ‘Love, Love, Love,’ is As Tall As Lion’s single, the words captivate you and put thoughts in your head as though they were a dream, a dream on clouds. As the tracks all flow beautifully, you come upon some tracks that almost make you stop and think about how great he pin points feeling in a song, just as in ’Kickin’ Myself.’ All the tracks are amazing! ‘Maybe I’m Just Tired’ has a whole other feeling. You daze out and just feel the music, close your eyes, turn off the sound of the world for a second and let this band take you beyond what you normally listen hear. They know what they are doing with the vocals flowing right over the instruments and the crazy beating of drums and bass. They just seem perfect to me. All the tracks on this cd flow perfectly till the end, making you want more. They are one of the greatest up and coming bands ever in this world. You have my WORD. -Jess Tha Bestest…

One of the most amazing CD's I have ever listened to.

Every single person in the US should be forced to listen to this CD. Just kidding. But everyone should listen to it. The CD is amazing. Period. The CD starts extremely strong. Stab City is a great track, and Song for Luna is amazing. Don't just listen to the preview. Listen to the full song. But the CD gets even better as it goes. A Break a Pause is enchanting, and Love Love Love (Love, Love) is good. Not my favorite, but it has been growing on me quite a bit, and it is a good song. Ghost of York is the highlight of the CD. If you are still unsure as to whether to buy the CD, just buy this one song. Yes, this song is that good. Continuing, Milk and Honey is slow and sweet. Be Here Now is another amazing song. I'm kicking myself is possibly too slow moving, but has a great melody. The CD ends in a way that will make you remember this CD for a long time, and you will be playing the CD over and over.
