Album Review

EMI Plus' budget-priced The Story series presents straight-forward, no-frills compilations of major rock artists with catalogs in the EMI vaults, accompanied by CD-ROMs containing brief biographical information (in English, Dutch, French, and Spanish), discographies consisting of album titles and dates of release, and a photo gallery. The Ritchie Valens volume contains all of Valen's chart singles, including "Come On, Let's Go," "Donna," and "La Bamba," along with all the tracks from his posthumously released debut album, Ritchie Valens, and other assorted recordings. Over 40 years after they were recorded, the performances continue to display Valens' talent and promise. This is not a complete collection of his recordings, but it contains the highlights of his small catalog.

Such a sad story...

Think of all the potential that Ritchie Valens had... the movie La Bamba is a great movie dipicting his life and death. He was so talented and it's such a shame that his life ended so early.
