Butch Wants To Be A Hipster

I got this album and I will say it sounds a lot better than that last album he put out "Afraid Of Ghosts." That album was just boring. With Stay Gold, he kicks it up a little. The first two songs do start off the record with a good kick, great guitar tones and energy. It just loses its momentum by the middle of the record. Mexican Coke sounds like "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out" by Bruce Springsteen. Overall this album sounds like if Bruce Springsteen and John Cougar Mellencamp made an album together in 1987.

Give Butch a Try!

It's a real crime that Butch Walker isn't more well known with more hits. He is more talented than 90% of the artists out there. Although Afraid of Ghosts was great and a necessary process to mourn his dad's death, I am so happy that he is returning to what he does best - smartly written rock-n-roll songs. Although he should be much more popular, I guess it is good for me, because I will get to see him in a small concert venue - The Tabernacle - in his hometown of Atlanta in August. If you don't know Butch, please listen to some songs. I promise you won't be disappointed. And you may just find your new favorite musical artist.
