Album Review

Freeform's Simon Pyke zeroes in on one or two of the themes of his earlier work — mostly electro and ambient — for his Warp debut. A double-pack EP with just four tracks in tow, the release isn't nearly as varied as his previous material, but benefits greatly from a sense of focus. "Lebanon" and "Brieflei" are the high-points here, with shifting melodies and odd time signatures helping reinvent electro for the martini-swilling armchair set.
