10 Songs, 36 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

When SWV resurfaced in 2005 after an eight-year hiatus, contemporary R&B was markedly different than it had been in their ballad-centric ’90s heyday. But as this second post-comeback effort illustrates, they’ve adapted to the times, shaking up new jack harmonies with sleek production, injections of funk, and smart samples. Clever updates run throughout: “MCE (Man Crush Everyday)” frames a ‘10s hashtag in crystalline late-’90s synths; a verse on the snappy “Love Song” interpolates Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab.” Still stands as emphatic punctuation: These sisters with voices are back to stay.

Yes yes yes

Finally some RnB I can actually listen to without all the profanity and sexual explicit content.

Why SWV is Still... SWV

It's very rare that a legendary R&B female trio from the 90's can reunite with all original 3 members and create such a timeless album and that is exactly what NYC natives Cheryl "Coko" Clemmons, Tamara "Taj" Johnson-George, and Leanne "Lelee" Lyons did on their latest album. What makes this album so special is these ladies fused together nostalgic SWV and today's music and they executed very well and gave us fans what we wanted plus more. With 25 million records sold WW and 24 years in the music industry, SWV is back and ready to take their spots back on top of the R&B scene. Overall I give the album 10/10
