Avalon, a collection of the Past with some new tunes

Anyone who has followed Anthony's singles since he started recording them will quickly see that there isn't too much new to offer, emphasized by the fact that a large chunk of the deluxe disk is demos. However, the fact that some of these tunes have been spun before is not to say that they are anything short of works of art, from the attacking guitar riffs of Dear Child, to the dark and rich storytelling of Devils Song, to the airy and unrushed feel of Miracle Sun. This album is orchestrated incredibly well, and is a testament to the originality and talent of Anthony Green. His evergrowing fanbase is incredibly well deserved. 5/5, a must buy.

Simply amazing.

I know all of these comments are getting a little redundant and I rarely write reviews on itunes but this record is just mind blowing, to say the least. Anthony's CD is a great buy, in my opinion. His work clashes genres together that almost anyone can enjoy :)

I am honored

I am so honored to write the first review for Anthony Green's Avalon. Track by Track Review: 1. She Loves Me So - Always my favorite track of Anthony's, and i was always curious as to how it would sound with a full band. The bass and light drumming compliments it more than perfectly. 10/10 2. Dear Child - First single. Honestly, never one of my favorite songs, but again, the bass and drums help the otherwise harsh chorus. 8/10 3. Drug Dealer - Beautiful, and the first really slow track. Good chill song. 9/10 4. Stonehearted Man - Second best track on the album, and i have no clue why. Just as soon as I heard it the first time, I thought, this is the best! A little less conventional than the previous tracks, though. 9.5/10 5. Babygirl - The first remade track from 'High and Driving.' Thank god they kept that amazing drum beat. Not drastically different than the EP, but since the EP version was good, this one obviously is. 8.5/10 6. Miracle Sun - First heard this as a Circa track on Fuse. This song is so incredibly beautiful, and I envisioned it becoming a studio track, but never knew what he would do with it. So impressed. CHIMES GALORE! 10/10 7. Califone - Simple song, never really listened to it up until now, but it's pleasant. Nothing special. 7/10 8. Springtime Out the Van Window - Electronic beat? I don't think so. Leave it to the Sound of Animals..but for Anthony this is a little far out for him. 7.5/10 9. Slowing Down - Great track, but too short!! Harmonica! We need more of these tracks. -.5 for the length; I'm sorry. 9.5/10 10. The First Day of Work... - I'm so glad the album is rounding off. After a batch of mediocre tracks, this is such a great track. Another 'High and Driving' remake, this track is just..balanced. Must buy. 9/10 11. Devils Song - Amazing vocal work, got this one for free from Anthony himself and just adored it. "I caught a demon in a mouse trap," and "the devils song won't be long" (its the longest track on the album! hahaha) Totally redeems the tail end of the album and a great finisher. 9.5/10 20. Dear Child (Good Old War version) - Our friends in Good Old War redeemed this track tenfold. This is the absolute ONLY reason to buy the bonus track version. 10/10 for sure. Please buy this album and tell your friends! This will last you for the rest of your life.
