I think when you listen to an album or an E.P., you hope that it's good, but perhaps not so good that you obsess over it. The First Arcade Fire E.P. and album, The Radio Dept., Lesser Matters, and Explosions in the Sky, The Earth is Not a Cold, Dead Place have had that affect on me. Those aren't comparisons to the Valley's music per say, but a comparison to my reaction. It's a little heartbreaking, ecspecially for a very new band, because as a listener; it's too consuming. It becomes obsessive for anything else they've done that you can get your hands on, which for now is very little.

That said, this may well be the best 3 consecutive i've heard so far in 2010. Maybe only to be trumped by my 8th listen which will easily happen today. Call it shoegaze, haze pop, dream pop... whatever you want. This EP is beautiful and remarkable. Thanks Montreal.


These songs break my heart every time I listen to them. This is what music should be.


I have writing and listening to shoe gazer music my whole life and this is one of the obsessively beautiful songs I have heard in a long time. I want to meet the creators of this.
