iTunes Review

On their sophomore album Stories, Addison Road confronts spiritual redemption amidst the chaos of daily living. In 2009, the Christian pop/rock quintet found their confidence tested after losing all of their possessions in a vehicle fire while struggling with an assortment of family issues. “Fight Another Day” (written by TobyMac) sets the tone for the album with its buoyant melody and encouraging message. Lead singer Jenny Simmons delivers tunes like “Won’t Let Me Go” and “Change In the Making” in a resolute yet vulnerable spirit, touching upon everyday troubles while reaching out for salvation. “Show Me Life” and “Where It All Begins” joyfully embrace God’s love, while “This Little Light” speaks to the bond between parents and children. The music here possesses both sparkle and drive, combining acoustic and electric textures with a strong groove quotient. Retro synthesizer touches add extra tingle to “Don’t Wait” and similar tracks. Addison Road wraps up Stories with the swaying, R&B inflected “My Story,” underscoring the note of renewal that runs through the entire album.

A must have :)

Addison Road does not disappoint with their sophomore album! They've shown such musical and lyrical growth from their first release, "Addison Road." Each song has a lesson, and not one is to be skipped :) Personal favorites include, "My Story," "Who I Am In You," and "Need You Now." :) GO BUY! So proud of this band, they are such a blessing!

God has surely Blessed Addison Road! With lyrics so uplofting and meaningful it will be hard to keep away tears. A-Road is back and better then ever! This sophmore album hits you like a ton of brinks, but then helps you out of the rubble. This a buy and buy now! Dissapointment is the farthest thing from my mind. I am amazed that such a strong sophmore album came from them. I havent hrd such a strong one since Fireflight's Unbreakable! A-Road is simply astounding. This Little Light is proof of there creativity and heart for God. They took a simple childhood sunday school song and turned it into a mature song with just as much heart as yur sunday school days! So once again I say, buy and buy now! :)

Home Run!

Addison Road hits one out of the park with this new album. Great work. Each song is captivating, inspiring and just plan worshipful.

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Addison Road's combination of alternative pop/rock and Christian sensibilities took root in 2001, when Baylor University students Jenny Chisolm and Ryan Simmons (who later married) were approached with a lucrative offer to play a youth group event. Although the two did not have a band, they quickly assembled a lineup comprised of bassist Travis Lawrence, drummer Jeff Sutton, and guitarist Ryan Gregg. The gig was successful, and Addison Road continued onward as a quintet, relocating to Dallas after...
